Bogged Down 09:06
I pulled over here just to rest I’m still heading towards that city over the hill Months pass. Years pass. And all I’m left with is this place Time flows through this valley faster than water and all I’m left with’s transient life [is some life] People here accept it all, and all I’m left with are my thoughts Are there those so subdued they have no hope yet they don’t care? Are there those so subdued all endeavors are equal to them? Are there those so subdued they’re tranquil All the time? Death arrives slowly to the doorway of the mansion on the peak of the hill Took its time still punctual. Gradual, it’s never late. Death arrives quickly here in the valley though they never say it’s early. Now I’ve become one of them. We’re dirty people takes too much to clean up And what’s the difference in the long run? And what’s the distance you can run? And how much time does it take? I pulled over here just to rest I’m still heading towards that city over the hill Time’s past time’s gone, and all I’m left with is this place Patience is mine patience is what I can judge others by People here accept it all and still I can’t stand it There are those so subdued it makes no difference what’s rewarded there are those so subdued nothing is better nothing is best there are those so subdued they don’t worry about a thing Death comes to me easily everything mortifies me then keeps me living Death lingers in the wings, threatening, making me wait There are those who believe in peaks and valleys, judgments and achievements, but not down here in this poor, peaceful community. Do the people make the place Or does the place make the people? I’m a stranger here pollen stains my skin while they all try to sell me land on behalf of those above while I wait to return home And what’s the difference in the long run? And what’s the distance you can run? And how much time does it take? Waiting Waiting Waiting

I have something to share And no one to share it Something to say No one to hear it Something to show No one to see it No one Turns their face to me I can see you trying Trying to drown your love for me It’s struggling Weeping Writhing Surviving What will it become? abandoned Abandoned Am I different from everyone? Bereft forlorn Scorned Is everyone? What are you trying to prove? That I’m weak Trample me That you’re strong Not in need? What are you / Is that what you turning into? / really care about? I hear you calling calling me “What a poor guy” Pity me Pity casts no blame Naked feeling I’m disgusting What have we become? Abandoned Abandoned You know I’m here Know it’s cruel To Benefit But benefit And profit Is all you’ll do You try to cure Yourself of me I’ll never know how I’m a disease try to say you shed no tears you only care For money sex appeal i can see i can hear you can’t think after so many years that I don’t feel that I don’t share I know you you doubt yourself abandoned abandoned Now you only speak in euphemisms Is that how you talk to yourself? Don’t pretend too well Do you still fool yourself?

about

Here we've got a couple new original compositions that we've been working on for a while, and a bunch of covers that we've had some fun laying down over the years, including a couple from classic musicals, can you guess which ones? Musical numbers fit in since everything's a little sentimental, but you can still get into it can't you? You've got a little bit of sentiment in you, I know it.

Recorded from 2017–2021 (mostly 2021)

Conductors Chicago, Illinois

"Mona tried to tell me
To stay away from the train line
She said that all the railroad men
Just drink up your blood like wine
An’ I said, 'Oh, I didn’t know that
But then again, there’s only one I’ve met
An’ he just smoked my eyelids
An’ punched my cigarette' "
